  • RN to MSN Bridge Option

    • Earn your Bachelor of Science in Nursing while at the same time earning nine credit hours towards your Master of Science in Nursing with this double-hitting, fully online program designed around the schedule of a working RN. This means you’ll complete your BSN with only 23-32 credit hours away from your MSN, depending on MSN track chosen. With customized education, arranged in your own community for hands-on learning, this unique RN to MSN Bridge is perfect for busy professionals.

      After completing at least 12 credit hours of nursing courses (while maintain a 3.0 minimum GPA), students will confer with their academic advisor to receive permissions to register for graduate-level coursework. If approved, students complete 9 credit hours of graduate nursing coursework.

    • Upon completion of all BSN requirements including graduation application, students with a minimum of 3.0 or above in all nursing courses at UNA, and overall GPA of 3.0 or better, and have continuous enrollment are guaranteed admission acceptance into the MSN program.

Accreditations

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and post-graduate APRN certificate program in nursing at the University of North Alabama are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).

Admission Requirements

Unconditional admission into the online RN to BSN and RN to MSN Bridge Tracks at North Alabama includes the following requirements:

  • Submit official proof of a current unencumbered registered nursing license and be in good standing with the Board of Nursing
  • Graduate from an accredited associate degree in nursing program or a diploma program in nursing
  • Possess a minimum of "C" or higher in all required math, science and Area V courses
  • Must have a criminal background check and negative drug screen as specified on admission information
  • Students must be eligible to participate in rotations in all clinical facilities to be eligible for admission to the program.

Application Deadlines

Students may be accepted and enroll in the spring, summer, and fall semesters for the RN to BSN, RN to MSN Bridge programs. We recommend that students complete their application for admission at least 2-3 months prior to their desired enrollment date in order to have time to submit all documentation.

Tuition and Aid

Online: $340 per credit hour plus additional fees with no out-of-state tuition.

Our New Start Scholarship is available to new students enrolled in any online degree program, offering a complimentary first course fee. Plus, for a limited time, no application fee is required.

This online program does not lead to any professional licensure or certification that would be regulated by your state board of nursing. Our program does include clinical requirements which are completed in your community under the supervision of a preceptor who will be secured by the course instructor with assistance from the student. If your state Board of Nursing (BON) requires approval of a supervised field experience, such professional approval requirements remain in effect. UNA has been approved by Alabama to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.
